Where to stay on Oahu
Where to stay on Oahu? Well I guess I should start with the traditional “Aloha and Welcome, and if you are a first time visitor to Hawaii, you will either learn to love or to hate this particular greeting. So, now the question is: Where to stay on Oahu? Should you stay in Honolulu?-or should you stay in Waikiki? Then, if you decide to stay in Waikiki, then where should you stay in Waikiki? When it comes to these questions, most people just think, “Where should I stay in Hawaii?” However, there are 5 major Islands to choose from, but technically, there are a total of 7 Hawaiian Islands. So, if you want to stay on Oahu, which includes places like: Honolulu, Waikiki, as well as many other small towns on The Hawaiian Island of Oahu, which you may or may not be familiar with, this, may be a good destination for your purposes. Where to stay on Oahu? Do you like the beach? If you do, then you should definitely consider where to stay in Waikiki, specifically. If you particularly like to shop, then you should consider where to stay in Honolulu, specifically. Below you will find an alphabetical listing of where to stay on Oahu. This comprehensive list includes both of the areas that were mentioned above: Honolulu, as well as Waikiki.
If you already know where you want to stay: in Honolulu or in Waikiki: then you can go directly to one of our lists: Where to stay in Honolulu or Where to stay in Waikiki.
Just for your information, there are some resorts that are outside the Honolulu and Waikiki areas. However, Honolulu and Waikiki are the two major areas where people normally stay when they visit The Hawaiian Island of Oahu, for many reasons!
I, myself, often like to consider other options. To me, this is a better way of finding “hidden treasures” that people may not have known about unless I stumbled upon them. I often prefer to explore, rather than by simply limiting myself to a certain city to stay in. So, I have also compiled a couple of other sites, as examples, which are intended for those who may be on a budget, and would like to find affordable accommodations: cheap hotels in Honolulu, or cheap hotels in Waikiki.
Another way of rating places to stay like: Where to stay on Oahu, Honolulu or Waikiki, is by using the “star method.” Personally, I know and understand the rating system, being 0 through 4 stars. But honestly, once I am in a room, the difference between a 3 and 4 star hotel room is extremely difficult to differentiate. I think one of the reasons for this is because there are no specific guidelines for accurate, designated, and willingness to have a conversation about a mutual agreement between people who would be influential and involved in this sort of rating system to be put in place with certain guidelines, and criteria to meet a uniform standard that could be used. As of right now, I believe that this system is all based around the opinion of the person who is doing the evaluation. But here is a list of Hotels on Oahu by comforts
Another way to decide on Where to Stay on Oahu is by choosing a specific Hotel brand that you like. Or, perhaps you would like to spend some of the room points that you have been accumulating, or you may want to acquire even more points to spend at another time. Here are two lists of hotels by association or brand-List of Honolulu Hotels by brand, or List of Waikiki Hotels by brand.
After all these lists, you can see what the hotels say about their property in a small paragraph or 2. But, if you would like to see more info, click the name of the hotel and select “Where to stay on Oahu.,” You will see a review and also some more information.

So, I hope you now know Where to stay in Waikiki now. I know you may be tired of the phrase, Where to stay in Waikiki – But you asked? So, now that you have looked at as many as 100+ hotels, to consider, Where to stay in Waikiki, which one is right for you?
Each time I stay in Waikiki, I consider why I am there, that is my biggest factor, so here are some examples of my answers to Where to stay in Waikiki.
Let’s say you are here on Vacation, and you are bringing 2-3 small children. By small, I mean younger than10 years old. If that was true, then I might look at one of the mega resorts, where I could stay in the resort, and never leave. I might consider the Hyatt; they have their own beach, and a lot of activities.
Ok, let’s say you ask, “Where to stay in Waikiki?” for your honeymoon, but then I ask, who is paying? The in-laws? Then it would be once again a mega resort, like the Hyatt or Turtle bay. But if you are paying, then I ask, are you more the “lie on the beach and read a book,” the Hyatt, or one of the ocean front resorts? But, if you want to be out in the nature of Hawaii, hiking, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba, etc. To be honest, you will walk into your room, and fall into bed. So, get a cheaper room, and have more money to do some adventure activities. If that is true, I like the Palm, or the Equus. Both are nice, affordable, hotels.
