Where to
This review of The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu is based on our visit on 7/6/07 through 7/8/07

The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu is perfect for economically conscious young singles due to all of the nightlife in the area. However, people with disabilities, older travelers, and families with young children and teens also benefit from The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel services and accommodations.

The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu has 661 rooms, 18 floors, and The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel is in a convenient location in central Waikiki that is surrounded by local attractions, entertainment, places to eat, shopping, and the list goes on and on. Many younger guests will not have a problem finding the nightlife and entertainment, because The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu is right in the middle of all of it. Two blocks from The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel On Oahu, is the Waikiki Beach that offers rentals for water activities such as snorkeling, boogie boarding, catamaran sailing, and canoeing. A surfing school is also nearby. A half-mile from The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu is Kapiolani Park. It is home to the Honolulu Zoo, and offers tennis courts, fields for sports activities, and a range for archery. The 18-hole Ala Wai Golf Course, which is also the same distance, has a driving range, and pro shop. Only two miles away from The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu is Diamond Head, and 14 miles away is famous Pearl Harbor. You don’t want to miss those attractions. The activities below are also offered at The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu or are near the hotel:
Sailing and surfing/boogie boarding is nearby The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu. The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu has Golf courses nearby, scuba, canoeing, motor boating, aerobic and yoga classes, volleyball, snorkeling, catamaran sailing, places to rent bicycles, places to rent scooters or mopeds, a driving range, places for hiking, and bike trails nearby. The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu also has a swimming pool and sundeck on site.

We arrived at the front doors of The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu and were very happy to see that there were plenty of people with smiles from ear to ear on their faces coming and going. That could only mean one thing- They were extremely pleased with their stay at The Ohana West Waikiki Hotel.

We proceeded to check in and were greeted by The Ohana Waikiki Hotel on Oahu's front desk staff that was very friendly, helpful, and informative about the hotel. We were then given a complimentary booklet with shopping and dining discounts and coupons during check-in at The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu. My guest and I were very eager to get up to our rooms so that we could freshen up before dinner, and settle in. The elevator was a bit slow, and pretty crowded, but that was the only thing I found to be less than paradise with The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu. When I was finally in front of the door to my room, I opened it and was ecstatic to see that my prediction about The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu was right- My accommodations were very nice. The room itself had a bright atmosphere (sunny), was spacious, very clean, and also very well maintained. My bed was very large, and was pretty firm. I know that is important to know for those of you with bad backs, like myself. There were two closets with more than sufficient space, and their sliding doors were mirrored. I used that to my advantage when deciding which clothes I should wear. The room I had chosen was a one bedroom suite, where the bedroom was separate from the main sitting and eating areas. The floor was nicely carpeted, and it felt good under my feet. It wasn’t that carpet that is all matted down and crushed so you don’t even feel like you’re supposed to be standing on something that is soft and plush. The kitchenetteat The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu was a very convenient amenity. It allowed me to make fresh Hawaiian coffee that was provided by The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu, and the flatware, dishes, plates, glasses, and coffee mugs came in real handy. I brought back some leftovers from restaurant nearby, and had a microwave to warm it up in, as well as well as silverware to eat with and a plate to eat on. In fact, there were several plates and other items in the kitchenette area. The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu also provides their guests with everything they need to make them feel right at home. Some of the other amenities The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahuoffers their guests are: complimentary wireless Internet access to those guests requiring or desiring internet access (available in the lobby), complimentary local and long-distance calls within United States and to Canada, complimentary use of in-room safe, complimentary daily newspaper, complimentary rides on Waikiki’s Trolley’s Pink Line throughout Waikiki and to Ala Moana Shopping Center and many more. We were located on the 6th floor, and had a very nice view of the city from our lanais (balconies). Many of the guest rooms at The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu have balconies. The bathroom was kind of small, but did have a bathtub, as well as a shower, and it served its purpose. The towels were good quality (which is one of my pet peeves about many budget-friendly hotels), as were the complimentary toiletries (separate shampoo and conditioner, which was nice, as well as nice oatmeal body soap.)  When showering, I did find it difficult to find a place to put my shampoo, conditioner, and soap. There was only one shelf for a bar of your soap, (if that’s what you had), and the perimeter of the bathtub was pretty small. In all honesty, I had a hard time taking a shower because of this. It was not a big deal, I managed. Well, all of these amenities were nice, and here are some more that The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu provides their guests:

There is also Chili’s Grill & Bar that is separately owned and operated to eat at on The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu's property. This casual restaurant chain is popular due to its excellent food and service. Chili’s Grill and Bar is on site and is open from late morning until late evening. Starbucks is nearby and offers unique coffees, baked goods, juices, and fresh sandwiches from very early in the morning until late evening. Cabana’s is The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu's bar that is located poolside. They serve specialty tropical drinks and light snacks from late morning until late afternoon. Nashville Waikiki is a country-western inspired bar with DJ music, food, free dance lessons, pool tables, and dartboards. Open from afternoon until late night and perfect for those looking to find night time fun and entertainment.

I wanted to mention that parking is expensive because you are in Waikiki, and if you arrive back to the hotel later than 8pm, there's a good chance you won’t get a parking spot. Fortunately, The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu furnishes its guests with a pass that allows you to park for free in a parking garage located a couple of blocks away. If any thing, it would be a nice walk back to The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu if this happens.

After taking in all of the amenities of my room, and The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu itself, I was ready for dinner. My guest and I decided to try chili’s, the on site restaurant.

In the morning we were going to be checking out, so I thought we should return to our rooms after we were finished eating. We both got a good night sleep, and were ready to leave. Again, the staff at the front desk was extremely helpful and very nice. We can’t say enough about the rooms, the amenities, and how we were treated. We most definitely recommend The Ohana Waikiki West Hotel on Oahu!!!
